Durham Health is a member of Pegasus Health. If you are an enrolled patient you are entitled to subsidised health care. We will see casual patients and visitors to our community, however they may not receive a subsidy and the fee charged will reflect this.

Our policy is that payment is required on the day of consultation unless prior arrangement is made.
We are happy to see non-enrolled and casual patients at our practice. However payment is expected prior to the consultation with the doctor or nurse. We do not offer accounts to non-enrolled or casual patients.
Any outstanding balances will have a monthly administration fee of $5.00 added until paid in full.
Please feel free to discuss alternative methods of payment with the Practice Manager or Front desk staff. We welcome regular automatic payments if this assists your budgeting.
- Any debt not paid after three months will be referred to our collection agency.
- If debt collection costs are incurred these will be added to the patients account
- No credit will be offered to casual patients or those of no fixed abode.
We accept payments via internet banking into the following bank account.
Please include your full name as a reference so we can correctly allocate funds.
After Hours Clinic Fees
Adults: $90.00 with CSC: $75.00 ACC: $60.00
Youth(14-17yrs) $75.00 with CSC: $60.00 ACC: $50.00
Children (Under 14yrs): Funded with CSC: Funded ACC: Funded
GP Consult Fees for Overseas Visitors and Non Eligible NZ Residents

Fees for Double Appointments with CSC Card (Enrolled patients - adult)
When booking a double appoinment please be aware that this is not a "standard appointment" You will be charged CSC holder fee of $19.50 plus a normal enrolled patient fee of $55.00. Totalling $74.50, please ask to speak to a receptionist for further explanation if required.
Fees for consults regarding children when not present
If a parent of an under 14year old patient attends for a consultation about their under 14 year old child and the child is not with them, an adult fee will be charged. Under 14 funded consults are applicable only if the child is present at the consultation.
Drivers Licence Medicals
Drivers Licence and Heavy Drivers Licence medicals are done by a Doctor in a consultation. Drivers Licence Medicals are $90.00 as there is no funding for this procedure.
Recreational Pilots Licence (RPL)
Dr Brown offers RPL medicals in a normal consultation (15mins). RPL Medicals are $90 as there is no funding for this procedure.
Waimakariri Surgical Clinic
Initial GP consultation fee applies as for non-enrolled and enrolled listed above.
Fees for minor surgery start from $200 and are adjusted upwards according to complexity and materials used. The doctor will give you a quote before embarking on the procedure. The cost quoted covers the procedure and two follow up visits if needed.
Please see your doctor for discussion and blood tests prior to booking an Aclasta infusion session.
Fee for infusion $120
Jadelle insertion and removal is now funded for patients that meet criteria. Please see your doctor for discussion around whether Jadelle will be a suitable form of contraception for you and if you meet the criteria for funding.
If not funded the Fee for insertion $150.00, removal $150.00
The Mirena device is now fully funded on presciption. Funding is also available for the insertion procedure if criteria is met, otherwise standard fees apply.
Please book an appointment with your doctor to discuss the suitability, costs, and preliminary tests required. A normal adult consultation fee will apply for this. This appointment is required even if you have had a Mirena previously.
If you decide to go ahead with the fitting of this long term contraceptive method the insertion fee is $210 (unless you meet the low cost contreceptive criteria or it is deemed medically necessary).
This service is fully funded if you qualify through the Canterbury Initiative Scheme, a referral required by your GP.
