Durham Health is a member of Pegasus Health. If you are an enrolled patient you are entitled to subsidised health care. We do see casual patients and visitors to our community. However they may not receive a subsidy and the fee charged will reflect this.
Our policy is that payment is required on the day of consultation unless prior arrangement is made.
We are happy to see non-enrolled and casual patients at our practice. However payment is expected prior to the consultation with the doctor or nurse. We do not offer accounts to non-enrolled or casual patients.
If an account is approved then an administration fee of $5.00 will be added to the fee. This will be refunded if the account is paid in full within 10 working days.
Please feel free to discuss alternative methods of payment with the Practice Manager or Senior Receptionists. We welcome regular automatic payments if this assists your budgeting.
- Any debt not paid after three months will be referred to our collection agency.
- If debt collection costs are incurred these will be added to the patients account
- No credit will be offered to casual patients or those of no fixed abode.
We accept payments via internet banking into the following bank account:

Home Visits: $260 per hour, Patient's charge also includes the doctors travelling time based on the hourly fee.
For other services please ask at reception or prior to your consultation.
The above fees apply to Enrolled patients only; including those who hold Community Services Cards. The Government does not provide increased funding, per consultation, for patients who are cardholders.
Instead, based on nation-wide service utilisation statistics, it provides funding for more frequent visits to 'the doctor'. This is because figures show that on average cardholders and their families visit their GP more often than non-cardholders.
We keep up-to-date records of all Community Service Card numbers and will see that your card status is annotated on our prescriptions, X-Ray request, and the like. This is because in many cases other health care providers we may refer you to, can offer some discount if you are a cardholder.
