Durham Health is a member of Pegasus Health. If you are an enrolled patient you are entitled to subsidised health care. We do see casual patients and visitors to our community. However they may not receive a subsidy and the fee charged will reflect this.
Double Appointment Fees for CSC Holders (enrolled patients - adult)
When booking a double appoinment please be aware that this is not a "standard appointment" You will be charged CSC holder fee of $19.00 plus a normal enrolled patient fee of $49.00. Totalling $68.00, please ask to speak to a receptionist for further explanation if required.
If an under 14 year old child is not present in the consult?
If a parent of an under 14year old patient attends for a consultation about their under 14 year old child and the child is not with them, an adult fee will be charged. Under 14 funded consults are applicable only if the child is present at the consultation.
Accounts Policy
Our policy is that payment is required on the day of consultation unless prior arrangement is made.
We are happy to see non-enrolled and casual patients at our practice. However payment is expected prior to the consultation with the doctor or nurse. We do not offer accounts to non-enrolled or casual patients.
If an account is approved then an administration fee of $5.00 will be added to the fee. This will be refunded if the account is paid in full within 10 working days.
Please feel free to discuss alternative methods of payment with the Practice Manager or Senior Receptionists. We welcome regular automatic payments if this assists your budgeting.
- Any debt not paid after three months will be referred to our collection agency.
- If debt collection costs are incurred these will be added to the patients account
- No credit will be offered to casual patients or those of no fixed abode.

Drivers Licence Medicals
Drivers Licence and Heavy Drivers Licence medicals are done by a Doctor in a consultation. Drivers Licence Medicals are $85.00 as there is no funding for this procedure.
Waimakariri Surgical Clinic
Initial GP consultation fee applies as for non-enrolled and enrolled listed above.
Fees for minor surgery start from $200 and are adjusted upwards according to complexity and materials used. The doctor will give you a quote before embarking on the procedure. The cost quoted covers the procedure and two follow up visits if needed.
Aclasta Infusions
Please see your doctor for discussion and blood tests prior to booking an Aclasta infusion session.
Fee for infusion $120
Jadelle Insertion/Removal
Jadelle insertion and removal is now funded for patients that meet criteria. Please see your doctor for discussion around whether Jadelle will be a suitable form of contraception for you and if you meet the criteria for funding.
If not funded the Fee for insertion $150.00, removal $150.00
Mirena Insertion
Mirena is now available on presciption.
*Funding is available for insertion if criteria is met, otherwise standard fees below apply.
Please see your doctor for discussion regarding the technique and costs and preliminary tests with the doctor - normal adult consultation charge. This applies even if you want a replacement Mirena fitting having had one before.
If you decide to go ahead with the fitting of this long term contraceptive method the fitting fee is *$210 and the device costs approx $300-$400. (Unless exempt from the prescription charge, your doctor will advise you on this after your first consultation.)
Spirometry
This service is free if funded through the Canterbury Initiative Scheme, a referral required by your GP.
IV Iron Infusion
This service is free if funded through the Canterbury Initiative Scheme, a referral is required from your GP. If self funded the cost is $120
