Rangiora is the largest town in North Canterbury and continues to enjoy population growth. It is situated 25km north of Christchurch which is the major city in the South Island of New Zealand.

Rangiora is a well serviced community; any facilities not available in Rangiora are easily accessible in Christchurch. There are numerous recreational and sporting facilities in the town. Skiing, water sports, fishing and tramping (hiking) activities are all to be found in our immediate vicinity. We also have a local airfield and active recreational flying 5 minutes from our town.

We are a general practice team of four doctors, four nurses and support staff that looks after 5,000 patients. In 2009 we moved to our new purpose built medical centre. This centre is spacious and comfortable with a designated operating room plus observation area. It also accommodates allied health professionals with hearing, midwifery, family planning, osteopathy and acupuncture available. We are committed to finding innovative solutions to primary health care issues as we believe that caring for patients within their communities provides for the best patient outcomes.

We have a philosophy of making work fun. We are looking for a new doctor to join our team. We are flexible regarding the sessions worked. We undertake to arrange cover so that adequate holidays can be taken. We have regular whole practice meetings as well as clinical meetings. There is a local GP education programme with regular meetings and peer group support. There is minimal on call obligation which involves a well rewarded 6 hour session at our 24 hour surgery in Christchurch most months.

Income will be based on a percentage of billable services provided or an hourly rate. Financial detail will be provided on enquiry.
