About me
Hello,
I'm Dr Nicky and I've been a part of the Durham Health team since late 2017.
I grew up and completed my schooling here in Rangiora before heading away to attend university. I graduated from the University of Otago in 2002 and worked in both large and small hospitals in the North Island during which time I completed my Post Graduate Diploma in Obstetrics and Gynaecology. I have been working in General Practice since 2006 and completed specialist training in General Practice and Rural Hospital Medicine in 2010 and 2013 respectively.
I have a keen interest in the health of rural populations and previously worked in general practice with an attached small rural hospital in Northland before returning to North Canterbury. I have also worked in various rural practices in the North Island while undertaking further study and have completed a Post Graduate Diploma and Certificate in General Practice and Rural and Provincial Hospital Practice.
I enjoy all aspects of general practice and have a particular interest in health and medical education, diving and hyperbaric medicine, and obstetrics and gynaecology.
